Section 10 Philosophical Contributions
First, Socrates’ ideological contribution
Socrates is a famous philosopher in ancient Greece and is regarded as one of the founders of Western philosophy. Although Socrates left no written works, his ideas survived through the writings of his students Plato and Xenophon.
Through dialogue and questioning, Socrates leads people to think about the core ethical concepts of justice, virtue, courage, and truth. This approach helps people clarify their ideas and reach a deeper understanding through constant questioning and refutation.
